About The Office

Since 1982, we have been serving central Indiana with top quality dentistry. As a small, family run dental practice we are able to provide high-quality, one-on-one care. We aim to maintain a service-centered model of dentistry and believe that we all benefit when the good of the person is put first. Even though our patients love us, we understand that most people don't enjoy going to the dentist. Therefore the best way to avoid visits for major dental work is by following a good hygiene regiment. This includes brushing, flossing, and regular professional preventative care. Regular exams at the dentist are easy, comfortable, and affordable. Providing professional rate oral hygiene is the backbone of our practice. We want our patients to have a healthy mouth and a confident smile. We specialize in tooth restorations. Teeth that have mild to moderate decay can often be restored with filling material. We offer two types of fillings: Alloy (a.k.a. "silver" or "Amalgam") and resin. Alloy fillings are usually reserved for teeth in areas of the mouth that are not easily visible when smiling. Alloy fillings remain among the safest, most affordable, and most durable filling material available. Resin fillings maintain the natural color of the tooth, provide a great restoration, and last a long time. When a tooth cannot be restored with a filling, it is sometimes necessary to install a custom prosthetic replacement. A crown is just that, a prosthetic tooth. Crowns may need to be placed if a restoration is defective or after a root canal. A bridge is a multi-tooth, one-piece crown that spans or "bridges" the gap created by a one or more missing teeth. Our crowns and bridges are custom made to fit the exact dimensions of each patient’s mouth. It always brings us joy to help patients who have been without teeth to finally have normal mouth function again. One of the best ways to do this is through the fitting and fabricating of dentures. Dentures restore a person's ability to speak, smile, and eat normally. Our dentures are custom fabricated to each patient's mouth. While the process of properly making and fitting dentures takes time, our patients agree that it is well worth the wait for dentures that will fit great and last a lifetime. We also give the same attention to detail with our custom partials.

How to find a 24/7 emergency dentist in Indianapolis

Our dental referral specialist can help you locate an emergency dentist near you in less than 3 minutes.

Find an emergency dentist open 24/7 in IndianapolisThere are almost 400 dentists in Indianapolis1, making it fairly easy to locate a dentist near you. There are numerous ways to search for a dentist. Yelp is a website where you can see the dentist’s phone number, reviews, address, and even directions. You can search for a dentist on Google Maps as well. The main difference between those websites and apps and us is that we will locate an emergency dentist near you and schedule an appointment for you. Any time you call us, our dental referral specialists will locate a dentist that is in network with your insurance, or that accepts your form of payment. We can also find a dentist office that offers help with financing. If you’re afraid of the dentist, we will locate one that uses sedation.

Sedation can come in different forms, such as IV sedation, general anesthesia, oral medication, or nitrous oxide, which is better known as laughing gas. The dentist can instruct you to take medication, one hour prior to your appointment so it starts working by the time you arrive at the dentist office. IV sedation and general anesthesia are usually used during more complicated procedures, such as oral surgeries involving an extraction of a tooth that is partially in the bone.

In case you’re unsure what a dental emergency is, we can help you. A dental emergency is any situation where you immediately need to see a dentist. A chipped, cracked, or a broken tooth may or may not hurt, depending on the severity of the fracture, but you should always see a dentist as soon as possible so more damage doesn’t occur to your tooth. Other dental emergencies are a knocked out tooth, bleeding gums, broken braces, a broken crown, or one that fell out, and even an injured or a fractured jaw. In this case you might need to see a doctor, in addition to seeing the dentist. Always call us if you need an emergency dentist, and we will immediately schedule you an appointment with one near you.

Things to know before your emergency dentist appointment

Preparing for your emergency dental visit will help minimize anxiety and reduce the overall time you will have to spend at the dentist office.

Checklist prior to visiting an emergency dentist in IndianapolisYou should always have some things prepared before your emergency dentist appointment. Dental records are very useful to your dentist, especially before he starts your treatment. If your dentist has your dental records, which are basically your medical history, he can see what condition you previously had, and can help him diagnose what problem you have now. If you’re seeing the same dentist, he will have your dental records, but if you’re going to a new dentist, you should contact your previous one to give you a copy of your dental records. Another thing you should bring with you is your insurance card, because the staff at the office needs it to check what type of insurance you have.

If you’re suffering from dental anxiety, you should inform the dentist when you’re scheduling the appointment, or our dental referral agents if you’re doing it through our service. We can help you find a dentist that uses sedation, or one that is very careful with patients that are afraid of the dentist. The dentist needs to know you have anxiety so he knows how to approach you. He will explain every step of the treatment process to you if you want, so you always know what’s coming next. People are afraid if they don’t know what’s going on, and the dentist can help with that. Some dentist offices have stress relief balls or toys for children, because holding on to something helps you with your anxiety level. Arrive early to your dentist appointment so you have more time to fill out the forms the staff at the dentist office gives you, and to relax by getting used to the surroundings. You don’t want to be in a rush when seeing a dentist, or keep him waiting, so give yourself some time and arrive 10 to 15 minutes early. Try to get a good night’s sleep to be in a better mood and reduce your anxiety level. Also, don’t drink caffeinated and sugary beverages before your appointments. Even though they give you more energy, they will make you more anxious, especially if you’re already afraid of the dentist.

Tell the dentist you’re anxious about the treatment so he can help you relax more. You can talk to him about having a signal during the procedure which will show him that you are in pain, or you need a short break. If you don’t like the sound of the drill, bring your headphones and listen to music. Don’t forget to ask the dentist how long you have to wait until you start eating after the procedure. You can also ask him if your dental hygiene habits are adequate, and if he has any suggestions about your diet or products that you use to clean your teeth.

Emergency dentist walk-in visit in Indianapolis without an appointmentA research done by McKinsey & Company stated that almost 39% of adults in Indiana haven’t been to the dentist in the last 12 months3. Out of all these people, 17% said that they found the location or time inconvenient, and 14% said the reason why they haven’t been to the dentist was because they had trouble finding a dentist, according to the American Dental Association4. If you have problems locating a dentist near you, give us a call. Our offices are open 24/7 and if you call us, our dental referral specialists will locate an emergency dentist for you and in less than three minutes you will have an appointment scheduled. Even if you call us in the middle of the night, we will schedule you an appointment for the first thing in the morning, if no dentist offices are open when you call us. We can do this without contacting the dentist office first because we have access to dentists’ appointment books through our close cooperation with them. A research done by the American Dental Association shows that 45% of dentist offices in the US are open on Saturdays, and 4% are open on Sundays5. That’s another reason why so many people can’t find a dentist, or have problems with arranging an appointment when it suits them. If you call us, we will make sure you get to an emergency dentist near you at a time that best suits you.

Most of dentists today don’t accept walk-ins anymore. This is because they have busy schedules, and they can’t take you in without an appointment because they don’t know how much time they need for your treatment, and don’t know what kind of insurance you have. Sometimes it takes up to 48 hours to check your information with the insurance company, which is the reason they ask you for your insurance information when you’re scheduling your appointment. The dentist can also perform a checkup on one patient, while another patient is waiting for anesthesia to take effect. This requires the dental office to perfectly plan their schedule, and they can’t do it if a patient comes to the dentist office unannounced. It’s always better to call a dentist in advance, than to risk getting turned away. Instead of searching for a walk-in dentist near you, call us and we will schedule an emergency appointment for you.

Top emergency dentist procedures in Indianapolis

Learn about common dental emergencies and treatments.

Illustration of top dental emergencies in IndianapolisOne of the top emergency procedures in Indianapolis is treating a chipped tooth. While it doesn’t seem like an emergency, a chipped tooth can quickly become infected, requiring the dentist to perform a root canal treatment, or can suffer a further fracture. In this case, the dentist may also need to install a crown. Whatever your dental problem might be, it is always better to go to the dentist as soon as it happens, than to wait. Putting off going to the dentist can only damage your tooth even more, making the treatment cost more expensive. Preventive care helps with avoiding dental emergencies because the dentist can see if your tooth has become structurally weak and if it’s more prone to getting chipped or broken.

Broken or Lost Crown

Another dental emergency that often happens is a broken or a lost crown. If your crown chips or breaks, be careful not to swallow the chipped part. The dentist might not have to make a new crown for you, but just polish and repair the old one, depending on the severity of the break. In case your crown fell off, save it because the dentist may be able to simply cement it back. A reason why it fell off might be because the tooth under it has a cavity which changed its structure. That would mean the crown doesn’t fit perfectly to it anymore so it came off. If you need a new crown, consider getting a CEREC crown, which is a type of crown made with the newest technology so it can be made and installed in just one dentist visit, compared to the traditional dental crowns, which require you to go to the dentist at least twice, and have a temporary crown installed until your new one is finished. CEREC crowns are comparable in cost to traditional dental crowns.
