About The Office

Having a dental emergency (tooth pain)? In need of major dental work (root canals, implants, etc.)? Simply looking to get your teeth cleaned regularly? Our affordable treatment plans provide options that you can feel comfortable about. Furthermore, our dentists and dental team have plenty of experience under our belt, having accumulated over 85 years in dental expertise, resulting in numerous happy patients and phenomenal results! There are two distinguishing factors of any dental practice: the physical layout of the office and the staff. Our dental office is located in a really cool brick building in the heart of Oakland. What makes our dental office unique however, are the people who work here. We are a very eclectic group – some of us coming as far as Stockton. More importantly, we have one goal in mind: to help each of our patients achieve their dental treatment goals. Some of our patients only need to get their teeth cleaned regularly, while others need major dental work to feel and chew better; but no matter the situation, our treatment plans provide options that you can feel comfortable about. Established in 1975, Dr. Ernie Lavorini first opened his practice on 17th Street in Oakland. Joined the following year by Dr. Gloria Fong, together they have been servicing our community for the past 40 years. They have since moved their practice twice, now residing in an incredible building on 15th Street and continue to be a part of the Oakland downtown community. Since 1975, they have added three specialists: endodontist Dr. Amanda Lavorini, periodontist Dr. James Choi, and oral surgeon Dr. Cassidy Lavorini. During this time, there have been several new faces added to the group, and they are happy to tell patients that many of the coworkers have been together for many years.

How to find a 24/7 emergency dentist in Oakland

Our dental referral specialist can help you locate an emergency dentist near you in less than 3 minutes.

Find an emergency dentist open 24/7 in OaklandThere are around 320 dentists serving the people of Oakland2. That’s a very high number considering Oakland is a city with a population of 420,000. Still, even in a big city like this, it can be difficult to find an emergency dentist. Dental offices can regard many issues with your dental health as an emergency. Some of them are a knocked out tooth, a chipped or a fractured tooth, a lost filling, a cracked or a lost crown, an abscess, facial swelling, and an unbearable toothache. For any of these conditions you can call a dentist near you and say you’re having an emergency.

Finding a dentist is quite simple these days. There are many apps or websites, such as Yelp or Google, that show you the location and a phone number of the nearest dentist. Our company not only does that, but also schedules an appointment for you. When you call you, our dental referral specialists will talk to you and in less than three minutes will schedule an appointment with an emergency dentist near you in Oakland. Our US based call center helps us be closer to the clients that call us, and the close relationship we have with dentist offices helps us have access to their appointment books. This way even if you call us at night when all the dental offices are closed, we can schedule an appointment for you first thing in the morning.

Things to know before your emergency dentist appointment

Preparing for your emergency dental visit will help minimize anxiety and reduce the overall time you will have to spend at the dentist office.

Checklist prior to visiting an emergency dentist in OaklandThe first thing you need to do to prepare for an emergency dentist appointment is to actually make one. For any kind of dental emergency, we should be the first ones you call because we can help you the fastest. If you want to prepare for an appointment, you should have your dental records ready. If you’re seeing a new dentist, make sure you give your old dental office a call to transfer the dental records. If your old dental office won’t transfer the records, have them make a copy, which you should have ready for your upcoming appointment. The dentist will greatly appreciate it if he has the records, because they are your medical history. It will be easier for your dentist if he understands your needs and sees what kind of dental work have you previously done.

If you are seeing the same dentist as before, you should have a list of all dental problems since your last visit written down. It is easy to forget when the pain on a tooth started or ended, or what kind of food or beverage made your teeth sensitive to either cold or hot. Writing these things can help the dentist put more focus on the affected area, and determine what kind of dental treatment you need. Finally, have your insurance card ready, and if you need financing, call the dental office before your appointment to see how they can help.

Emergency dentist walk-in visit in Oakland without an appointmentAccording to the American Dental Association, in the last 12 months 36% of Californians have had problems sleeping, and 55% have had difficulty biting or chewing due to the condition of their mouth and teeth. As many as 19% said they had to take a day off to solve their dental problems3. With these high numbers, it is not uncommon for people to look for a dentist online or when driving and trying to get a walk-in. Most of these dentists will turn you away because of their busy schedules. Dentists would like to treat you, especially if you’re having an unbearable toothache, but they usually don’t have the time. That’s why they ask you to make an appointment first, instead of showing up for a walk-in.

Dental emergencies are very common, and people in Oakland know it. Instead of having problems sleeping, feeling uneasy when eating, and taking days off for your dental appointments, give us a call. We work closely with many dental offices in Oakland, making us the perfect choice for scheduling an emergency dentist appointment for you. Rather than finding a dentist yourself and risking getting turned away, let us locate a dentist near you and schedule an appointment for you. In less than three minutes, we can make sure you get the time slot you want, without having to take a day off. If you have problems sleeping, call us in the middle of the night and we will find a dentist that’s open, or schedule an appointment for you first thing in the morning.
