David L. Hill, DMD
San Jose, CA 95125
About The Office
Welcome to my dental practice. My name is David Hill. I have been practicing dentistry in San Jose since 1987. My dental philosophy is simple: Treat patients like family. My job is to save teeth, so I take a conservative approach as often as possible. Most procedures are handled in the office; however, I am fortunate to have a network of dental specialists from oral surgeons and endodontists to periodontists and pedodontist who are available when the need arises. Our modern, technology-rich office is located in Willow Glen. We are accepting new patients, and accept most PPO insurances including Delta Dental, Met Life, Aetna, Cigna, and many, many others. We want your experience at our office to be 100% positive. We encourage you to involve yourself in your own treatment throughout our relationship. An informed and involved client is most likely to achieve the highest level of health. Please assist us by providing the following information at the time of your initial visit: a list of medications you are presently taking, any previous x-rays. The first visit is an opportunity for us to assess your dental health and needs. A dental cleaning is typically not done at this initial visit, although we can arrange this if needed. After this visit, we will schedule the cleanings and treatments necessary. All treatment options and associated costs are clearly spelled out before any treatment is started.

Pham Trung, DMD
San Jose, CA 95128
About The Office
A core component of our practice philosophy is a comprehensive approach to dental care. A comprehensive approach can be conservative, and allows patients to receive the most functional, durable and aesthetic outcome. Conversely, a quick fix or repair approach superficially addresses acute conditions, which may look fine but will not last long. Every patient has different dental needs and expectations, therefore, each individual will receive personalized care. Our dedicated team is here to work with you as a partner and provider of your dental health. We go to extraordinary lengths to satisfy and delight our patients. We want to meet or exceed their expectations at every appointment. We know that by doing so we turn patients into advocates for our practice.

How to find a 24/7 emergency dentist in San JoseOur dental referral specialist can help you locate an emergency dentist near you in less than 3 minutes.
There are over 750 dentists in San Jose2, making it a very competitive city for dentists. However, most of them don’t work on weekends or at night. There are around 30,000 dentists in California, but according to the American Dental Association, 25% of Californians feel embarrassment due to the condition of their mouth and teeth3. In addition, every fourth person in California feels embarrassment, and every fifth one feels anxiety because of the condition of their mouth and teeth. If you feel like that, then the time is right for you to call an emergency dentist near you. There are many ways to search for a dentist by just using your smartphone. Using Google to type in the words “emergency dentist near me” will result in a great number of dentists showing on your screen. If you want to locate an emergency dentist that will take you in on the same day, then you should give us a call.
Our company works closely with many dental offices in San Jose, and thus we are able to access their appointment books, even at night, or weekends when they are not open. That means that when you call us in the middle of the night, we can schedule an appointment for you the first thing in the morning. According to the American Dental Association, 45% of dentists work on Saturdays, and only 4% of them work on Sundays4, making it difficult for you to find a working dentist, and that’s precisely the reasons we want you to call us. Each time you give us a call, expect to finish it in under three minutes and have an appointment scheduled with an emergency dentist near you. That’s how long it takes our referral agents to locate an emergency dental clinic near you that accepts your form of payment, or a dentist that is in network with your insurance.
A research done by McKinsey & Company said that around 35% of people in California haven’t had a dentist visit in the last 12 months5. According to the American Dental Association, 12% of those people say the main reason for not going to the dentist is trouble finding a dentist, and 18% say the location or time are inconvenient2. If you’re having problems locating a dentist near you, or can’t find the time to go to one because every time you call a dentist office, they are busy, then call us. Our dental referral specialists will locate a dentist near you and schedule an appointment for you at a time that best suits you.
Things to know before your emergency dentist appointmentPreparing for your emergency dental visit will help minimize anxiety and reduce the overall time you will have to spend at the dentist office.
If you suffer from anxiety, or are afraid to go to the dentist, you should be honest with the dentist and tell him that. The dentist will know how to properly approach your anxiety. If you want to know what’s going on every step of the way, the dentist can explain it to you. Some patients like hearing what’s happening and what tool is going to be used next, while others don’t. If you’re one of those that don’t and don’t like the sound of the drill, take your headphones and listen to music. Some dentist offices will play relaxing music while you’re in the chair, or will talk to the staff about non dental matters to keep your mind off things. It never hurts to bring something to squeeze during your procedure, like a stress relief ball.
If you’re nervous about even getting to the dentist office, bring a friend. It helps to have someone you know going to the dentist with you and waiting for you to finish your procedure. Finally, talk to the dentist about having a signal for when you need a break. You can raise your hand during your treatment to let the dentist know you need a short break. Regardless of what level of anxiety you have, never keep it to yourself. The dentist can help you with a thing as simple as breathing. Most people hold their breath during the procedure, making their body lack oxygen and start to panic even more. Arrive early before your appointment so you can get comfortable and get to know the surroundings, instead of rushing to the dentist’s chair as soon as you walk in the office. The staff at the dentist office will give you forms to fill out, so you will have extra time to do that as well.
You should prepare your dental records for your dentist before you go for your appointment. Dental records can help your dentist see what kind of problem you have, and can see what previous treatments you had. Contact your previous dentist to give you a copy of your dental records, then forward them to your new one. If you’re seeing the same dentist as before, he will already have them. Don’t forget to bring your insurance card with you, because the staff at the dentist office will need it to give you accurate pricing.
Prepare a list of questions before you go to the dentist. Ask the dentist if you should take any medication or if you should stop with the medication or supplements you’re currently taking before your appointment. You also need to talk to your dentist about your dental hygiene habits, and ask if you need to make any changes. The dentist may also have some suggestions about the cleaning products you’re using. Finally, don’t forget to ask your dentist how long do you have to wait to eat or drink after the procedure.
Get a walk-in emergency dentist appointment todayCall us to schedule you an appointment with an emergency dentist near you in less than 3 minutes.
If you’re having a dental emergency, then you probably don’t want to call anyone. You just want to go to the nearest dentist office you know and ask for a walk-in. Unfortunately, most dentists don’t accept walk-ins nowadays. Dentists have perfected their appointment taking and schedules to that measure that they can work on two patients at the same time. The dentist may sometimes perform a cleaning or a checkup on a patient, while another patient is waiting for anesthesia to start working. This kind of work requires a very organized schedule. You coming without an appointment might seriously disrupt the schedule, making the dentist unable to do as much work as he usually would. In addition, the staff at the office might have to postpone other people’s appointments because of you, resulting in them being dissatisfied, and possibly risking bad reviews.
Instead of trying to get a walk-in, and risking getting turned away, try calling us. Our dental referral specialists can locate an emergency dentist right away after you call us. If you have any special requests, such as a dentist that uses sedation, make sure to tell us. Sedation dentistry is very popular in California, especially because many people are afraid of the dentist. A research done by the American Dental Association shows that 13% of people in California that haven’t seen a dentist in the last 12 months, haven’t done so because they’re afraid of the dentist3. There are many forms of sedation, such as nitrous oxide, oral medication, IV sedation, and general anesthesia. You, together with the dentist, can decide what kind of level of sedation you need because it depends on how anxious about the procedure you are, and how extensive the treatment is. No matter what kind of request you have, we will find the most suitable dentist for you.
Top emergency dentist procedures in San JoseLearn about common dental emergencies and treatments.
A broken or lost crown or filling happens very often. Swallowing it by accident won’t harm you, so you don’t have to worry if you did. Even if you’re just breathing, the cold air can enter your tooth and cause great discomfort. If this happens to you, try not eating on that side of the mouth, or eating at all to avoid getting the tooth in a worse condition. Seek out an emergency dentist as soon as you can. If the crown just fell out, it’s possible it can be reattached. If you broke or chipped a tooth, you will know it right away because it is one of the most painful dental emergencies. Rinse your mouth with warm water, then immediately use an ice pack to apply to the affected tooth. Don’t wait too long and call us to schedule a same day appointment at an emergency dentist near you. A knocked out tooth is also a dental emergency, but the tooth can be saved if you see a dentist as quickly as you can. First pick up the tooth by its head and rinse it under water, being careful not to touch the root. Before going to the dentist try to put the tooth back into its socket and bite down gently. If you can’t, either put it between your cheek and gums, or put it in a milk filled container. Getting to the dentist under 60 minutes will greatly increase chances of the dentist saving your tooth. There is still a chance your tooth can be saved even after that time, though, but make sure to see an emergency dentist near you as soon as possible if you have a knocked out tooth.
